Why Purpose with Sense?

Purpose with Sense’s mission is to help people identify and eliminate life distractions and habits that interfere with their ability to successfully uncover, activate, and with longevity, pursue their purpose. Dr. Gary works to help individuals achieve this by:
Ø  Assisting in the discovery of natural gifts, talents, and skills
Ø  Increasing understanding of the process of purpose preparation through daily living
Ø  Increasing awareness of habits and distractions impacting the fulfillment of purpose
Ø  Increasing awareness of how to develop individual “strength of weak ties” through social and cultural capital expansion.

The knowledge and insight Dr. Gary gained as a professional and while conducting research and writing her dissertation titled, Family Attitudes, Beliefs and Practices Facilitating a Sense of Purpose in Black American Children and Youth: A Grounded Theory, she discovered several themes about parents and children pursuing purpose:
Ø  Lack of understanding of purpose and how to unveil it
Ø  Lack of knowledge of the practical steps needed to strengthen and instill purpose
Ø  Lack of knowledge to uncover resources needed to illuminate purpose
Ø  Lack of understanding of the benefits of knowing your purpose
Ø  Limited knowledge of the connection between the activation of purpose and career satisfaction
